David A. Fisher, MD
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Fisher is the current director of the Total Joint Center of Excellence at the Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital. He is an Indiana native, received his undergraduate degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana in 1977. He attended Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis for his post-graduate studies and received his medical degree from Indiana University in 1982.  He then went to St. Anthony Hospital in Columbus, Ohio to perform a one-year fellowship in joint implant surgery. He has had numerous articles published in professional journals, presented to both national and international medical associations and participated in many research projects and FDA trials.

Edward J. Hellman, MD
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Hellman graduated cum laude from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York in 1981. He received his medical degree from the University of Michigan College of Medicine in 1985 and became a resident in the department of orthopedic surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit in 1990. He joined the staff of Indiana University as an assistant professor in the department of orthopedic surgery from 1993 to 1999. In 1999, Dr. Hellman joined Orthopaedics Indianapolis. Dr. Hellman has given numerous presentations and has authored many articles on arthroplasty of the hip and knee.

Timothy A. Hupfer, MD
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Hupfer graduated from Indiana University, where he was Phi Beta Kappa, in 1980. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis in 1984. Dr. Hupfer completed an internship in General Surgery at Metropolitan Northwest Detroit Hospital in Detroit, Michigan and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in 1989. Dr. Hupfer serves as the team physician for the Indiana Pacers and is a member of the NBA Team Physicians Society. He is also a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Dean C. Maar, MD
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Maar completed his undergraduate studies at DePauw University in Greencastle, graduating in 1981. He graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1985 and completed an Orthopaedic residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Maar has had manuscripts pub- lished in Orthopedics, the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, the Journal of Arthroplasty and other medical periodicals. He has presented on national and international levels and served as the Assistant Editor for the Journal of Arthroplasty from 1991 to 1999.
